Mission

“City Kids Wrestling Club, Inc. is a non-profit, charitable contribution organization committed to using the sport of wrestling to promote character development, competitive spirit and the pursuit of personal excellence for youth in the City of Milwaukee.”

Program Overview

Head Coach Rudy Ruiz trains the coaching staff to implement CKWC’s standardized curriculum, which incorporates anti-smoking, anti-drug and character building sessions, mental training, as well as wrestling fundamentals.

CKWC also trains its coaches in the areas of wrestling technique, coaching standards, officiating, CPR and First Aid, in addition to a standard background check. In order to be selected for one of the club’s summer youth coaching positions, funded by the Private Industry Council, a high school wrestler must complete training and certification in all three areas.

Each wrestling site is coordinated by the City Kids Wrestling Club with funding and support from Fighting Back!, the Milwaukee County Sports Authority, and private donations.
